Imperial Medicals RFC

Imperial Medicals Rugby Club represents the students from Imperial College School of Medicine. It is the modern amalgam of 3 formerly distinct hospital teams. Charing Cross hospital and Westminster Hospital originally merged in 1984, and were considerably strengthened in 1997 when St Marys Hospital joined, it was known as one of the strongest hospital sides in England. Each one of these teams has a long and colourful history, having all been founded in the 19th century and producing scores of international players, one of the most famous being JPR Williams from St Marys Hospital. IMRFC is particularly notable for its dominance in the oldest competition in rugby, the United Hospitals (UH) cup, being the most successful team with 51 wins in this competition. It regularly fields 3 teams in British University and College Sport (BUCS) leagues, with the 1s currently competing in South Eastern 2B. We frequently enjoy a brilliant social atmosphere off the pitch, creating a strong club tone throughout. The Club is very much looking forward to its re-joining NAMS and is looking to state its name as the top hospital side in the South-East.
