National Association of Medical Schools (NAMS) Rugby Union Website - Welcome

Leicester Medics RFC

LMS was formed in 1975 with a LMRFC founded soon afterwards. In 1995 LMS gave birth to its ugly

daughter Warwick, and forged an academic partnership that spilled over onto the sporting field. In 2002, Warwick reached their majority and have been getting dicked ever since.

Post L-W split LMRFC experienced some dark times with a fall numbers contributing to less than ideal performances. In recent years however LMRFC has had something of a renaissance with a number of strong Captains and good intakes resulting in us being more competitive than ever. In the past five seasons we’ve reached the NAMs 15s plate final and won the NAMs sevens plate in both the 12/13 season and the 13/14 one.

We are a young team, with the majority of the squad being between first and third year. Despite our kit sec being a bit of a dick, we have carried on our steady trajectory upwards. Our first dalliance in the knockout stages of the NAMS cup competition in the 13/14 season has given us a real impetus to go forth and conquer. We will be playing in a local league for the first time this coming season, allowing us to play many more fixtures and carry on improving.

We welcome tourists; if you happen to draw us in the competition this season we will be more than happy to take you out to show you the bright lights of this fairly dingy city in the East Midlands.
